I bought Family Historian after previously using another piece of software that wasnt up to the job. I was looking for something specific in buying it - I was after embedding pictures into the tree rather than just linking the files to the tree, and I also wanted a way of viewing all family connections on one diagram, which couldnt be done with the other software.Remarkably, everything I needed could be done, and more. I would very much recommend this - everything is simple, user friendly, but at the same time comprehensive to any and all information you wish to put in. Something that for me makes it an irresistable offer is that Callisto Pie are offering a free online upgrade to the next version when it is released. It means no extra costs when this software needs upgradiing - something to consider if you are planning to do this long term. Also, 100% GEDCOM compatible means you are using a universal format so if at some point you need to share data to get further up your family tree, that can be done. Well worth the price.
